Repurposed Crater was the first stage where vertical level design was really taking shape. It informed a lot of how the art developed over time.
At one point, we had an entire other area but had to be cut to size down the level.
Some of the initial sketches explored a huge flower-like array.
As the Solus architecture developed, Brutalist influence began to shape the central array structure.
The Solus wanted to imitate life, so they experimented with creating their own trees.
