This stage was very narrative-focused revolving around the vultures and their connection to the Solus.
A lot of early exploration was about seeing where the vultures live. The idea being that they form nests from scrapped metal of various sources.
One of the big prevailing ideas was a giant abandoned solus where a tree had grown out of.
As the blockout was finalized, the tree became a major part of the level design, growing much bigger in size and forming paths to other parts of the stage.
This was a paintover exploring the core that still lights up, providing warmth in a frigid environment.
Although this stage saw less concept art, much of its visuals were driven by my lighting work and material work, as well as many drawover notes for the artists.
I was responsible for building a small kit of branches to setdress the tree.
